Comments |
Some scripts by this author create extensive taggroups which contain settings or calibrations. This utility script allows specific taggroups within the Global Tags to be saved as a settings file (.gtg). This can serve as a backup in case the orginals get damaged or deleted. The saved settings file can be subsequently reloaded. It can also be migrated to another instance of DigitalMicrograph. This may be useful where calibrations performed on an online system (connected to a microscope), can be moved to an offline system, to allow offline calibration/processing of data which relies on those settings. Updated in v1.1 to add a additional functionality. |
System Requirements |
Tested on GMS 2.32, but should be compatible with GMS 3. |
Known Issues |
This is a general reminder and does not reflect any special risks associated with this script - there are none of which I am aware. It is generally good practice for users to keep multiple backup copies of DigitalMicrograph preferences (especially on microscope-connected systems). A damaged preference file can cause a camera to run slowly or an imaging filter to become unusable. Make a copy of the entire Preferences folder (found inside the DigitalMicrograph folder) every few months and store it on a seperate computer system in case of hard disk failure. |
