Point and Measure |
|
Function |
A simple script to aid quick and crude measurement of diffraction patterns by eye. All measurements are relative to the pattern's centre, which must be defined. This can be done using Locate SADP Centre in DiffTools, Centre FInder in RDFTools or DiffPack. If the centre is not defined, the option to define it using Point and Measure is given. Points are identified by moving the cursor to the centre of a diffraction spot and hitting Space to mark it. Obviously this is not very accurate, but for some applications it may be adequate. The pattern centre is marked with [000] and all diffraction spots are marked in real d-spacing values. To finish measurement hit any key. |

Comments |
Requires a diffraction pattern be front-most. If the pattern centre has not been defined, options to define it are given. |
System Requirements |
Tested on GMS 2. Should be compatible with all versions. |
Known Issues |
If the text labels are too big or small, or the text is white (on a white background) and so is hard to see, right click on one of the labels and edit the font size and foreground colour. Thereafter, these changes become the new defaults for the measurement session. |
